Daihar Village Son Aims To Transform His Village Into A Smart Village

Amitesh from Daihar village of Chauparan block of Hazaribagh has been in limelight these days not only in the entire region but also in Jharkhand. The village of Daihar in Chauparan block was known to be the home of the Naxalites. There was a time when several Naxalites were killed here in a police encounter. When Amitesh returned home in lockdown, he decided to change the appearance of his village and panchayat. An engineer by profession, Amitesh, with the help of his company ONGC, is trying to make his village Daihar a Greenfield smart village. With the help of ONGC Foundation, the village is being equipped with all facilities including pucca houses, electricity, roads, schools, hospitals, street lights, Wi-Fi services. He connected about 200 houses through a pipeline in order to provide fresh drinking water. He is also getting support from many institutions.

Amitesh first prepared a development project for his village. After dividing his project into several phases he sent a proposal to his company, ONGC Foundation which agreed to help him. Apart from ONGC Foundation, financial support is also being taken from CAB, Ola Foundation, Tata Power etc. in the proposal. He named this project as Green Field Smart Village. The project inaugurated on August 15 by Union Petroleum and Natural Gas and Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The young engineer informed that the first phase of the project is in progress. Under this, arrangements have been made to supply water through the pipeline in the village. After this, accommodation will also be made for 50 poor families of the village.

After this phase, the project will focus on providing proper electricity, street lights, hospital, school, Wi-Fi and other facilities. A full one-year goal has been set to complete the work. For this, the main target is to collect more than Rs 10 crore from different sources. After doing MTech from IIT Mumbai, Amitesh has been working in ONGC as the Executive Officer. Villagers are quite happy with this project.
