Delhi Riding Club Foundation is a non-profit organization which extends financial and non-financial support at the grassroots level and works in the area of education, health and community development. In times of need, every bit of help counts and Delhi Riding Club Foundation remains at the forefront during this testing period.

The Foundation, through its work directly benefits children and their families through their welfare projects on education, healthcare, livelihood and women empowerment, in remote villages and slums across states of India.

Sanjay Rai, industrialist and social entrepreneur, is actively working even after the lockdown through the help provided by Delhi Riding Club Foundation. During these testing times, Sanjay and the foundation have been serving food to the homeless, the needy and the less fortunate in areas of New Delhi. The foundation has been providing groceries and cooked meals to daily wage labourers, slum dwellers and homeless people of the city on a regular basis. “The current situation is unprecedented and I am helping people out there who don’t have a roof above their heads and can’t afford meals even once a day,” says Sanjay. He mentions that their earnings have taken a massive beating and this lockdown has ended up being a very stressful time for them.

Supporting the education of the most marginalized children, Sanjay Rai and his younger brother Dhananjay Rai with support from the Delhi Riding Club Foundation distributed educational stuff like books, notebooks, pen, pencil, stationery, etc. to around 400 underprivileged poor students of slum regions of Faridabad to ensure their educational standard. They also provided sweets, chocolates and biscuits to needy children. Sanjay Rai inspired children to study by quoting ‘Khub padho aur Khub badho’. Dhananjay Rai shared his views and said, “We are serving people coming from different places in search of work here because of their family responsibility and economic crisis. Since they are not the native citizens of the city they are unable to receive the proper facilities. We are providing them with all the essential items of need, shelters and some kind of work in the best possible way.”

Sanjay Rai is also doing his bit for a cleaner and healthier environment. Since going green is the need of the hour, Sanjay Rai along with the foundation is also encouraging plantation. Recently, they planted around 2000 plants of different sizes in regions of Delhi which are devoid of greenery. Sanjay Rai said that when he adopted this region, there was a lack of basic facilities here. The foundation here is playing the role of a municipal corporation, providing all the basic facilities. He further said that the plantation campaign will end on the birthday of PM Modi. Right now they are planting two trees in front of every house in such regions.
