Virtual Graduation Ceremony Held In the US For Indian Students

Amid coronavirus, universities around the world are adopting unique ideas to honour their graduating students by holding virtual graduation ceremony. On Friday, thousands of Indian students along with their family and friends across the US and India participated in one of its kind virtual graduation ceremony for the year 2020. The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in banning of in-person graduation ceremony across the United States.

The Indian Embassy organised the event to appreciate and honour student’s academic achievements and also to boost their morale in the face of the continuing uncertainty caused by the pandemic. India’s Ambassador to the US Taranjit Singh Sandhu, in his address to the students, said that these unprecedented times are also times of unprecedented opportunities. Innovation is a part of the journey ahead and students will be the pioneers to shape the world.

It is estimated that roughly 2,00,000 Indian students are currently studying in the United States. The India Student Hub initiative to organise virtual graduation for the students cheered up the whole environment, added Sandhu. The ambassador wished them success and concluded his speech by mentioning that the students will be the future innovators, entrepreneurs, doctors and scientists. Family and friends across the US and India enjoyed the virtual graduation ceremony and also sent their messages of encouragement to the new graduates.
